Ostia Antica In-DepthFor this tour your guide will meet you at your hotel and accompany you to the train station by taxi where you will catch the train to Ostia Antica (30 minutes). Your guide will use this time on the train to explain the history of the site. Once arrived you begin your explorations of the ruins including: The firemen's barracks, the baths of the cart drivers, the shops, the Greek-style theater, a bakery, a laundromat, a restaurant, multi-level apartments, the one of a kind town center with its merchants' square, temples to a pantheon of gods and goddesses, the forum and the beautiful Imperial baths. Full Day ImmersionAs Ostia Antica is so large (175 acres or 133 football fields!) and fascinating, one could spend days exploring and visiting the ruins. The full day tour allows us time to make a detailed visit to the museum, containing original finds from the site including statues, sarcophagi, and frescoes.
