The Garden of Earthly Delights...

Whether you love the startling grace of a Botticelli or the vine-drenched hills of Chianti, Tuscany awaits. Long attracting the attention of the discriminating traveler, Tuscany combines flower-strewn hillside towns, art-packed cities and simple but elegant cuisine that never fails to charm.

Florence Express

Hailed as the Athens of the Middle Ages, Florence was the beacon that led Europe out of centuries of darkness and into the light of the Renaissance. Led by a series of enlightened nobles, Florence emerged in the 14th century as a beacon of artistic and mercantile endeavor. Fostering and nurturing the work of a new crop of visionary artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo its return to the works of the ancients led Europe towards a new dawn.

We work with a select group of the finest private guides Florence has to offer. Taking the same approach to quality, depth of knowledge and friendliness that we insist upon for our tours in Rome, we also offer private guided tours in Florence. Whether you're looking for an in depth tour of Florentine art at the Uffizi and the Accademia, whether it's shopping for famed Tuscan leather, or whether it's the viticultural and culinary delights of Florence that interest you, our private guides will meet your every need.

With your private guide you will visit the intimate cobblestone streets and Piazzas of enchanting Florence as the artistic and architectural highlights of the city unfold before you. You can choose to visit either the Uffizi or the Accademia where your guide's vast knowledge of Florentine art and history will insure a memorable visit. All the while your guide will also be giving you a thorough background on the fascinating and influential Medici merchant family who not only created the first medieval mercantile fortune, but whose patronage of the arts led directly to the birth of the Renaissance, out of which came such great artists as Botticelli and Michelangelo. Your guide will bring the city's history alive from its greatest achievements to its darkest moment with the rise of the mad priest Savanarola and his Bonfire of the Vanities in which countless great works of art were lost to the flames.

Tuscan Paradise

A short drive south of Florence and the roads climb out of the broad plain of the Arno river and into the hills of the Chianti region. It's no mystery why the discriminating traveler adores this region. The taciturn Tuscans are rightfully proud of their land. Decades of strict land-use regulations have insured Tuscany's spell-binding mix of small vineyards, fields of wheat and sunflower and delightful hill-top towns.

Take a tour with our Tuscan chauffeur and guide in his top of the line Mercedes for an unforgettable day sampling the best the region has to offer. This tour is based on decades long relationships of trust built between our guide and Tuscan artisans, farmers and winemakers. He takes you far from the beaten path to the real heart of Tuscany. You will sample caciotta and pecorino cheese direct from the farm, cured meats such as the delightful finocchiona Toscana, a salami shot through with fennel, and the equally characteristic Cappocollo, a Chianti-inflected cured ham. You will also visit a small wine-producer, tour their vineyard and drink wine overlooking the graceful green hillsides.

Lunch will be at one of our guide's favorite countryside trattorie with an unbeatable menu of local Tuscan products served with traditional care and creative elan. You will enjoy any of a number of seasonal specialties, from the thick Tuscan steaks of the graceful white-flanked Chianina steer to the traditional 'pici' pasta with porcini mushrooms or local wild boar. And of course the wine, whether a hearty Brunello di Montalcino or an exotic Cabernet super-Tuscan, your guide will not go wrong.

This tour can be completely customized to your tastes. We offer it as either a 1/2 day tour or as a full day tour, depending on your schedule. You can emphasize any aspect that interests you, whether its hilltop towns, slow food, shopping for artisan products or glasses of wine atop slopes of San Giovese and Canaiolo grapes, our driver is at your disposition.
